Cuckoo's Nest Artist Residency of Seinäjoki Artists' Association organizes an artist talk event.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Resident artist Paul Antick will discuss the making of his new video project Open Unit, which was shot on location in Seinäjoki. Open Unit is a story about an emphatically fictional character called Smith. In 1981 Smith was a patient at Törnävä Psychiatric Hospital in Seinäjoki. He stayed in one of the hospital’s open units. According to the Törnävä Hospital Museum (2023), ‘In open units, patients had the freedom to venture outside…’ Open Unit is a short film about what happened when Smith did that. </p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The event is in English.
