Autiotaloissa on läsnä menneet vuosikymmenet ja estetiikka, jossa näkyvät eletyn elämän jäljet. Minna Salonen on tutustunut lähiseutujen autiotaloihin vuosien ajan. Kokemuksista syntyi opinnäytetyö Autiotalojen estetiikka — Hylätty tila installaation lähtökohtana.

Taiteilijatapaamisessa Salonen kertoo, mikä häntä autiotaloissa kiehtoo ja miten hän käyttää kokemuksiaan hyväksi taiteessaan. Hän avaa myös muutamalla sanalla opinnäytetyöprosessiaan.

Tapaamisessa on esillä kuvia autiotalomaalauksista ja valokuvia, joita on otettu autiotaloista. Kävijät voivat jakaa omia kokemuksiaan autiotaloista.

Abandoned houses hold traces of past decades and an aesthetic shaped by signs of lived life. Minna Salonen has explored abandoned houses in the surrounding area for many years. These experiences resulted in her thesis, The Aesthetics of Abandoned Houses — Abandoned Space as the Starting Point for an Installation.

At the artist talk, Salonen will discuss what fascinates her about abandoned houses and how she draws on her experiences in her art. She will also briefly talk about the process of creating her thesis.

The event will feature images of paintings depicting abandoned houses, as well as photographs taken inside abandoned houses. Visitors are also invited to share their own experiences of abandoned houses.
