LevyPopup ilahduttaa jälleen musiikin ystäviä ja vinyylien vinguttajia Seinäjoen Epstorissa sekä pikaisesti myös Vaasan taiteiden yössä. LevyPopup tarjoaa houkutuksia ensin Vaasan kulttuuritalo Fannyssa to 11.8. sekä Seinäjoen Epstorissa pe-la 12.-13.8.22.

Vanhat musiikkiformaatit tekevät edelleen pitkää paluuta. Vinyylibuumista on puhuttu jo paljon, mutta myös CD ponnistaa tilastojen pohjalukemista ylöspäin. Eräänäkin päivänä pari yläkoululaista pysähtyi levylaarien äärelle tutkimaan heille uutta asiaa. Ehkä kehittyneimpien kädellisten genomi ohjasi ottamaan juuri oikean otteen ja siirtelemään levyjä sujuvasti kohti laarin etureunaa. Plärättyään lähes kaikki levyt läpi aivan kuin paatuneimmat vinyylien vinguttajat tyttö tokaisi toiselle: ”Pitäisi varmaan pyytää levysoitinta”. Ehkä toivoa vielä on. Siinäpä saattoi piipahtaa pari tulevaa levyjen ystävää.

Torstaina 11.8. LevyPopup piipahtaa siis Vaasan kulttuuritalo Fannyssa (Kirkkopuistikko 34) klo 16-21. Ja pidempi LevyPopup siis Seinäjoen Epstorissa (Kauppakatu 5), katutason liiketilassa, pe 12.8. klo 11-18 sekä la 13.8. klo 10-15. Kävelykadun päädystä pääsee pikaisimmin pläräämään. Tervetuloa!

Jenny Ojutkangas (s. 1996 Lapualla) on elämänkatsomusten ja maailmankuvien monipuolisuudesta kiinnostunut kuvataiteilija. Ojutkangas yhdistelee työskentelyssään erilaisia kuvataiteen menetelmiä. Hänelle läheisin työskentelytapa on akvarelli yhdistettynä hiileen.

\n

Ojutkankaan viimeaikaiset työt käsittelevät lapsuuden kotiseutu- ja seurakuntakokemuksia. Teoksissa tosielämän havainnot ja muistot on siirretty kuvitteelliseen universumiin. Lopullinen teos on lehtikuvamainen. Lyhyt, mutta kerronnallinen ote tuon kaukaisen paikan tapahtumista.

\n

Varikkogalleriassa esillä olevassa näyttelyssään Ojutkangas käsittelee elämää raamattuvyöhykkeellä. Näyttelykokonaisuutta hän on valmistellut kuudessa eteläpohjalaisessa kirkossa. Oman kokemuksensa lisäksi ääneen pääsee taustoiltaan kirjava joukko eteläpohjalaisia, joita Ojutkangas on kiertänyt nauhurin kanssa jututtamassa parin vuoden ajan. Lapuan, Seinäjoen ja Kauhavan seurakuntien jumalanpalveluksissa maalatut teokset muodostavat tekstikatkelmien kanssa vuorovaikutteisen ja näkökulmiltaan laajan kokonaisuuden.

Keskeisimpiä aiheita ovat uskonnon merkitys eri elämänvaiheissa sekä kokemus kirkon läheisyydestä. Mitä kastetuksi tuleminen tarkoittaa? Millainen rooli kirkolla ja seurakunnalla on eteläpohjalaisessa arjessa? Miten monin eri tavoin ihmiset kokevat saman yhteisön? Mihin kukin keskittyy kirkossa käydessään? Mitkä kokemukset ihmisiä yhdistävät tai erottavat?

Ojutkankaan tavoitteena on tuoda näkyväksi ajatusten ja kokemusten monipuolisuus ja antaa katsojalle mahdollisuus tarkastella omaa kirkkosuhdettaan.

Maxxxtet on ennakkoluuloton ja raikas jazzkvartetti, jossa Max Zenger soittaa alttosaksofonia ja bassoklarinettia, Tomi Nikku trumpettia, Eero Tikkanen bassoa ja Jonatan Sarikoski rumpuja. Yhtye luottaa Max Zengerin sävellyksiin ja herättää ne henkiin luomalla ainutlaatuista äänimaisemaa – kukin omilla soittimillaan. Zengerin kauniista melodioista ja koukuttavista rytmeistä syntyy omaperäisiä sävellyksiä, jotka ovat täysin moderneja ja samalla ammentavat jazzin perinteestä vaikuttimina henkilökohtaiset kokemukset, seikkailut ja kohtaamiset. Zengerin monikulttuurisuus antaa lisäväriä ilmaisuun.

Maxxxtetin sävellykset on tehty jokaisen yhtyeen jäsenen vahvuudet huomioiden, ja yhdessä yksilöt nousevat esiin sekä vahvoina solisteina että saumattomasti yhdessä soittavana kokoonpanona.

Avoimen iltamat tapahtuma järjestetään keskiviikkona 17.8. klo 17-20 Kampustalon, Seinäjoki-salissa (Kampusranta 35),

Seinäjoki. Etelä-Pohjanmaan alueen avointen yliopistojen ja SeAMK:n avoimen korkeakoulun toimijat ovat paikalla klo 17

kertomassa alueen laajasta korkeakoulutarjonnasta. Tapahtuman pääpuhujana klo 18-20 on työhyvinvointivalmentaja, tietokirjailija, voimaharjoitteluvalmentaja, yrittäjä, DI Joni Jaakkola. Avoimen iltamien aiheena on Miksi aloittaminen on niin vaikeaa? Tilaisuuden jountaa rehtori Olli-Pekka Viinamäki Etelä-Pohjanmaan kesäyliopistosta.
