Tänä kesänä himmeleiden kanssa Suomea kiertävä matkalainen Ayana Usami on opiskellut suomea Japanissa ja tutkii itsenäisesti suomalaista himmelikulttuuria. Ayana Usami, a traveler touring Finland with himmeli this summer, studied Finnish in Japan and is independently researching Finnish himmeli culture. During her trip, Ayana will make 100 small octahedrons, which will be filled with encounters and memories. WALLHILL Metal Festival Saapuu Seinäjoelle ensi kesänä!

WALLHILL Metal Festival näkee päivänvalon ensimmäistä kertaa 29.8.2026, kun OmaSp Stadionin Hetki-areena muuntuu raskaamman musiikin pyhätöksi. Lavalla tullaan näkemään juhlavuottaan viettävä Stam1na, Ensiferum, joka on yksi kansainvälisesti tunnetuimmista suomalaisista metalliyhtyeistä sekä kotimaisen metallin kulmakivet Korpiklaani, Tarot ja Nicole.. Tapahtuma on K18.

Tapahtuman lipunmyynti aukeaa 13.2.2026 klo 10:00 Early Bird-hinnoin, jotka ovat voimassa 28.2.2026 saakka. Lippuja on rajoitettu erä.

Suuren suosion saavuttaneet Neulelanit saadaan jälleen Kalevan Navettaan!

Knit along with Taito E-P Neulelaneilla pääpainona on yhdessä neulominen, rento ja kiva tunnelma sekä leppoisaa, kevyttä ohjelmaa. Kalevan Navetassa toimiva Äärellä ravintola tarjoilee osallistujille päivällä kevyen salaattilounaan sekä iltapäivällä kahvit. Tapahtuman aikana on myös viinibaari avoinna, josta voit hankkia erilaisia virvokkeita.

Jo neljättä kertaa toteutettava liveyhteisneulonta järjestetään Seinäjoella, Kalevan Navetan upeassa Hugo-salissa lauantaina 12.9. klo 12-17. Tällä kertaa saamme vieraaksi neulesuunnittelija Niina Laitisen, joka on suunnitellut yhteisneulontaryhmäämme monia suosioon nousseita neuleita kuten Sumulaakso-raglanpuseron, Ikkunaprinsessa-pitsikaarrokeneuleen, Kevätaurinko-kolmiohuivin sekä lukuisia muita upeita neuleita. Tämän vuoden neulelanien teemana on vuonna 2023 suosioon noussut Ikkunaprinsessa-pitsikaarrokeneule: Laneilla nimittäin päästään neulomaan yhdessä Niina Laitisen suunnittelemat Ikkunaprinsessa-pitsisukat!

Muutakin ohjelmaa on tulossa, josta infoamme lähempänä. Lisäksi saamme tuttuun tapaan laneille myös muutamia myyjiä.

Näyttelyssä on aapisia 1940-luvulta 2010-luvulle. Näyttelyyn voi tutustua Aallon kirjaston aukioloaikoina.

Eläkkeellä oleva opettaja Hilkka-Maija Keskinen lahjoitti aapiskokoelmansa Seinäjoen kaupunginkirjastolle vuonna 2015. Kokoelmaan kuuluu 64 aapista ja 27 niihin liittyvää lukukirjaa.
