\nKeskiviikkona 15.7. Teatteri Tie esittää Sakari Topeliuksen klassikkosadun ”Adalminan Helmi”. Vanhat satuaarteet ovat upea osa kotimaista kertomusperinnettämme ja niiden sisältämät opetukset ansaitsevat tulla punnittaviksi jokaiselle sukupolvelle jokaisena aikana.
\nOlipa kerran kuningas ja kuningatar, joilla oli pieni tyttö, Adalmina, jonka kastajaisiin oli kutsuttu kaksi haltijatarta. Punainen haltijatar antoi Adalminalle suuren helmen, jota seurasi vielä kolme lahjaa. Tietäkää, sanoi haltijatar, että niin kauan kuin Adalmina säilyttää helmen itsellänsä, on hän päivä päivältä tuleva yhä kauniimmaksi, rikkaammaksi ja älykkäämmäksi.
\nSininen haltijatar sanoi: ”Jos hän kadottaa helmensä, kauneutensa, rikkautensa ja älykkyytensä, hän saa korvaukseksi minulta neljännen, mutta kaikkein arvokkaimman lahjan, ja se on nöyrä sydän.” Ja samassa nyökäyttivät molemmat haltijattaret jäähyväiseksi ja katosivat kuin kaksi poutapilveä sinisellä kesätaivaalla.

\nTheater Tie presents Sakari Topelius’s classic fairy tale “Adalmina’s Pearl.” Old fairy tales are a wonderful part of our national storytelling tradition, and the lessons they contain deserve to be pondered by every generation in every era.
\nOnce upon a time, there was a king and queen who had a little girl, Adalmina, to whose christening two fairies had been invited. The Red Fairy gave Adalmina a large pearl, followed by three more gifts. “Know this,” said the fairy, “as long as Adalmina keeps the pearl with her, she will grow more beautiful, richer, and wiser day by day.”
\nThe Blue Fairy said, “If she loses her pearl, her beauty, her wealth, and her intelligence, she will receive from me a fourth, but most precious gift in return, and that is a humble heart.” And with that, both fairies nodded in farewell and vanished like two cumulus clouds in the blue summer sky.

\nTervetuloa elokuvamusiikin tunnelmiin! Sellisti ja laulaja Seeli Toivio vie kuulijat unohtumattomalle matkalle tuttujen sävelmien pariin. Noin tunnin mittaisessa konsertissa kuullaan musiikkia muun muassa elokuvista Tuulen viemää, Star Wars, Taru sormusten herrasta, Titanic, Interstellar ja Pirates of the Caribbean. Luvassa on myös suomifilmien säveliä sekä klassisen musiikin helmiä Bachista Merikantoon.

\nWelcome to the world of film music! Cellist and singer Seeli Toivio takes the audience on an unforgettable journey through familiar melodies. The approximately one-hour concert features music from films such as *Gone with the Wind*, *Star Wars*, *The Lord of the Rings*, *Titanic*, *Interstellar*, and *Pirates of the Caribbean*. The program also includes melodies from Finnish films as well as classical music gems ranging from Bach to Merikanto.
\nThe concert will feature both an acoustic cello over 200 years old and a modern Yamaha electric cello. The music is complemented by Toivio’s impressive vocals. This versatile musician holds a Doctor of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy and has performed extensively around the world.

\nHeinäkuun viimeisenä keskiviikkona Hugo-sali muuttuu maatilaksi! Temppusirkuksen esityksessä maagisella maatilalla tapahtuu outoja asioita ja mikään ei mene suunnitelman mukaan. Oppiiko tipu ikinä lentämään ja miksi kananmunat pomppivat? Hevoset lentävät ja possut heittävät voltteja, mutta miksi lato liikkuu ja sieltä nousee savua?
\nEsitys on koko perheelle suunnattu absurdi ja sanaton kertomus oudon eläintilan kaoottisesta päivästä, johon mahtuu paljon erikoisia sattumuksia, pomppivia esineitä sekä hassuja eläinhahmoja.

\nOn the last Wednesday of July, Kalevan Navetta's Hugo Hall turns into a farm! Strange things happen on this magical farm, and nothing goes according to plan. Will the chick ever learn to fly, and why are the eggs bouncing? Horses fly and pigs do somersaults, but why is the barn moving and smoke rising from it?
\nThe performance is an absurd, wordless story for the whole family about a chaotic day on a strange farm, filled with lots of unusual events, bouncing objects, and funny animal characters.

\nKlo 17–20 Näyttelyavajaiset: Käsityöllä fanittaminen – Tähän työhön sain inspiraation idolistani
Pajakäytävä, 1. krs
Käsityöllä fanittaminen on tunteiden, taitojen ja fanituksen yhdistelmä, joka luo ainutlaatuisia ja henkilökohtaisia fanituotteita. Näyttelyyn on koottu eri tekniikoin toteutettuja, käsityönä valmistettuja fanituotteita, joiden takaa löytyy sekä taitoa että tunnetta.
Avajaispuheenvuoron pitää Taito Etelä-Pohjanmaan toiminnanjohtaja Marja Hemminki-Haapoja klo 17–17.15 Pajakäytävällä.

Tervetuloa Taidehallin uuden näyttelyn avajaistapahtumaan sekä tutustumaan Ajan saastuminen -ryhmänäyttelyn taiteilijoihin. Erich Bergerin kuratoiman näyttelyn taiteilijat ovat Petri Ala-Maunus (FI), Laura Beloff (FI), Andy Gracie (UK/ES), Katri Naukkarinen (FI) ja Aurora Del Rio (IT), Elsa Salonen (FI), Emilia Tikka, Leena ja Oula A. Valkeapää (FI).
Ajan saastuminen kutsuu sinut matkalle, joka ravistelee vallitsevaa aikakäsitystä. Näyttelyn taiteilijat käsittelevät ajan moniulotteisuutta ja teokset osoittavat sen, miten syvä menneisyys ja tulevaisuus vaikuttavat huomaamatta jokapäiväiseen elämäämme.

Tässä maksuttomassa nonstop-työpajassa pääset virittäytymään avajaisiaan viettävän Ajan saastuminen -näyttelyn teemoihin itse tekemällä. Työpajassa toteutetaan matalan kynnyksen taidepuuhaa, johon voivat osallistua kaikki ikään ja taitotasoon katsomatta. Työpajaan voit piipahtaa koska tahansa klo 17–19 välisenä aikana. Paikalla on taidehallin ohjaaja.
Klo 17–20 Työpaja: Kalevan Navetta -korvispaja
Kässä 2-luokka, 1. krs
Seinäjoen taitokeskuksen non-stop työpajassa on ainutlaatuinen tilaisuus koota omat Kalevan Navetta -korvakorut! Korvispohjan K-logo inspiroituu talon ylimmän kerroksen pyöreästä ikkunasta. Seinäjoella suunnitellut ja valmistetut korvispohjat ovat materiaaliltaan kotimaista koivuvaneria. Korun osissa käytetään kirurginterästä.

Kalevan Navetan sisäpiha
Kalevan Navetan sisäpihalle piilotetut hauskat sirkusaiheiset tehtävät innostavat luovaan liikkeeseen. Sirkusrasteilla viihdytään yhdessä, kokeillaan erilaisia sirkusvälineitä ja askarrellaan oma sirkushahmo!
klo 18–20 Työpaja: Pyyhkeen tarina
Taidelainaamo Parsi, 1. krs
Kävijät voivat tuoda Taidelainaamon työpajaan omia vanhoja puuvilla- tai pellavatekstiilejään, esimerkiksi pyyhkeitä tai pöytäliinoja. Tapahtumakävijöiden kanssa keskustellaan heidän vanhoista tekstiileistään ja tarinat tallennetaan taiteilijan käyttöön (äänitettä ei julkaista). Millaisia tarinoita tekstiileihin liittyy? Missä tilanteissa niitä on käytetty? Kuka ne on tehnyt ja mihin tarkoitukseen? Tekstiilit voivat olla vanhoja, rispaantuneita tai tahraisia. Taiteilija voi käyttää tekstiilejä taiteen materiaalina.

Taija Taika (Taija Kummelus-Eskelinen) on hyvinkääläinen ammattitaikuri ja Suomen monipuolisin saippuakuplataiteilija! Taijan esitykset ovat näyttäviä ja hän yhdistää taikuutta ja sirkustaidetta kuplashow’ihinsa, jotka sopivat koko perheelle.

Mrittika Rahman on Seinäjoen kansalaisopiston tulevan lukuvuoden 2026–2027 intialaisen tanssin opettaja, kurssilla Introduction to Indian Dance & Rhythms. Mrittika esittää soolotanssiesityksen, jonka jälkeen on mahdollisuus opetella muutama intialaisen tanssin askelsarja.

Seinäjoen kaupunginorkesterin kesäkvintetti viihdyttää Seinäjoen asukkaita soitollaan jo toista kesää! Kesäkiertue huipentuu konserttiin Kalevan Navetan kesäpäivässä, jossa kvintetin kahden kesän ohjelmisto on kuultavana konserttimuodossa.

“The Contamination of Time” invites you on a journey that challenges prevailing notions of time. The artists in the exhibition explore the multidimensional nature of time, and their works demonstrate how the distant past and future influence our daily lives without us even noticing.

This non-stop workshop offers a unique opportunity to assemble your own Kalevan Navetta earrings! The K-logo on the earring base is inspired by the round window on the top floor of the building. Designed and made in Seinäjoki, the earring bases are crafted from Finnish birch plywood. Surgical steel is used in the jewelry components.

Fun circus-themed tasks hidden in the courtyard of Kalevan Navetta inspire creative movement. At the circus stations, we’ll have fun together, try out different circus equipment, and craft our own circus character!
18:00–20:00 Workshop: The Story of a Towel
Arthoteque Parsi, 1st floor
Visitors are invited to bring their own old cotton or linen textiles, such as towels or tablecloths, to the Arthoteque workshop. We will discuss these textiles with event attendees, and the stories will be recorded for the artist’s use (the audio recording will not be published). What kinds of stories are associated with the textiles? In what situations have they been used? Who made them and for what purpose? The textiles can be old, frayed, or stained. The artist may use the textiles as art materials.

Mrittika Rahman is the Indian dance instructor for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year at the Seinäjoki Adult Education Center, teaching the course “Introduction to Indian Dance & Rhythms.” Mrittika will perform a solo dance, followed by an opportunity to learn a few Indian dance step sequences.
18:30–18:45 Argentine tango dance performance<br>Kalevan Navetta courtyard<br>An Argentine tango dance group will perform in the Kaleva Navetta courtyard. The performance will feature tango and milonga.

Varikkogalleriassa Seinäjoella
Kuvanveistäjä Riitta Kopran yksityisnäyttely Majavalampi nähdään Seinäjoen Varikkogalleriassa 13.6.–5.7.2026. Näyttelyn avajaisia vietetään perjantaina 12. kesäkuuta klo 18.00–20.00. Lämpimästi tervetuloa, tilaisuuteen on vapaa pääsy.
Näyttelyn teemasta ja taustasta:
Tämä näyttely on saanut alkunsa jo monta vuotta sitten, kun olen liikkunut Evon ja Taruksen alueella lasteni kanssa ja havainnoinut siellä asustelevia majavia. Muutenkin olen aina havainnoinut luontoa. Se on sellainen aika perusjuttu.
Tähän, mitä nyt olen tehnyt ja tutkinut, liittyvät tietenkin erilaiset kokemukset. Siinä on mukana omia kokemuksiani, lasteni kokemuksia, eläinten kokemuksia – juurikin ne majavat – ja sitten myös kokemuksia sellaisena laajempana, yleisempänä, kaikille yhteisenä asiana. Tavallaan siihen liittyy joskus jotain mystiikkaa. En tiedä, onko se mystiikka sitten sellaista, että sillä paetaan jotakin hieman rasittavaa arkitodellisuutta, vai onko se jotain, mikä on oikeasti meille ihmisille enemmän totta kuin moni muu asia. Puhutaan siis luontoyhteydestä.
Materiaalina luonto on mukana aika paljon. Käytän sellaisia materiaaleja, mitä löytyy ympäriltä ja kotoa. Esimerkiksi jos olen käyttänyt puuta, niin se on omalta tontilta kaadettua puuta, jota on tarvinnut muutenkin kaataa. Muutenkin materiaalit ovat aika helposti saatavilla olevia.

\n\nVanhat kankaat tai esineet tuovat oman tarinansa osaksi teosta: “Teoksissani etsitään juuria ja elämän lähtökohtia, joiden pohjalta oma identiteetti on rakentunut. Yhdistelen kuvansiirtotekniikoita maalaukseen ja kirjontaan ja teokset voikin luokitella tekstiilitaiteeksi. Käytän teoksissani kierrätysmateriaaleja, jotka kertovat omaa tarinaansa osana teosta. Osallistun osaltani yhtenä lenkkinä käsitöitä tekevien naisten pitkään ketjuun, vaikka teoksillani ei käytännönläheistä tarkoitusta olekaan.”
\n\n","sv":"","en":"Kirsi Autio (b. 1976) is an artist from Raahe, Finland, with family roots also in South Ostrobothnia. She holds a Master of Culture and Arts (Visual Arts) degree and has worked as a visual artist since 2001. Autio is a member of the Oulu Artists' Association 63.
\n\nMemory and remembrance—particularly collective memory—are central themes in Kirsi Autio’s art. Through her works, she evokes images and associations that may awaken personal memories or reflections on past events in each viewer.
\n\nOld fabrics and objects bring their own stories into the artwork: \"My works explore roots and the starting points of life upon which personal identity has been built. I combine image-transfer techniques with painting and embroidery, and my works can therefore be classified as textile art. I use recycled materials in my works, and these materials contribute their own stories as part of the piece. As one link in the long chain of women engaged in handicrafts, I participate in this tradition, even though my works do not serve a practical purpose.\"

\nTyöpaja sisällä, jossa havannointeja työstetään jäljiksi paperille maaperän ja muiden luonnonmateriaalien avulla.
\nPäivän aikana keskustelemme, kyselemme ja pohdimme yhdessä. Aiempaa kokemusta ei tarvita. Riittää, että saavut paikalle uteliaana.
\n<h3>Soilscape</h3>\nSOILCAPE-hanke pyrkii ymmärtämään nykyisiä yhteiskunnallisia käsityksiä maaperästä sekä ihmisten ja maaperän välistä suhdetta ja rakentamaan niiden pohjalta uutta. Hankkeen ytimessä on kahdeksan ” maaperä- ja taideorkesterin” muodostamaa verkostoa, joka kokoaa yhteen yli 440 monialaista toimijaa ympäri Eurooppaa maaperätietoisuuden ja -sitoutumisen lisäämiseksi. Dynaamisten ja avoimien hakuprosessien kautta hanke hyödyntää taiteen voimaa syventääkseen yleisön ymmärrystä maaperästä – maapallon elintärkeimmästä luonnonvarasta. Sen tavoitteena on kannustaa yli 5 000 kansalaista ja ammattilaista huolehtimaan aktiivisesti maaperästä ja esitellä menestyksekkäitä aloitteita laajemmalle yleisölle, joka tavoittaa vuosittain vähintään 20 000 osallistujaa kymmenessä Soil Festival -tapahtumassa. Laajentamalla sinfoniaansa Euroopan ulkopuolelle 30 alueelle ympäri maailmaa SOILSCAPE:sta tulee toivon symboli, joka muistuttaa maailmaa arvostamaan ja suojelemaan elämän perustaa.
\n<h3>Ellenor Rose Nish</h3>\nEllenor Rose Nish (s. 1997, Nhulunbuy, Australia) on taiteilija, jonka tieteeseen pohjautuvaa työskentelyä ohjaavat kasvi- ja geotiede. Hän on valmistunut biologian kandidaatiksi Australian kansallisesta yliopistosta. Hänen taiteellisella tutkimustyöllään on merkittäviä vaikutuksia maailmaan, esimerkiksi säilyttämällä biologista monimuotoisuutta pitkälle tulevaisuuteen ja syventämällä suhdetta luonnon ja ihmisten välillä. \n<h3></h3>\n<h3>Saapuminen Kalevan Navettaan</h3>\nÄärellä-ravintola avoinna työpajan aikana 1 krs. ja Seinäjoen taidehallin näyttelyt avoinna lauantaisin klo 11-15.
\nOsoite: Nyykoolinkatu 25, 60100 Seinäjoki. Rakennuksen pääovi sijaitsee Kalevan Navetan ja Itikanmäen asuintalojen välisen sisäpihan puolella. Kävellen ja pyörällä pääset Kalevan Navetalle Vaasantien kautta tai Pohjan valtatien ylittävää Lakeuden aamunkoi -siltaa pitkin.
\nKalevan Navetan ympärillä on noin 50 autopaikkaa asiakkaille. Ensimmäiset kaksi (2) tuntia on ilmaista automaatista saatavalla lipukkeella tai parkkisovelluksella, ja seuraavat tunnit maksavat 1 €/h. Lähin yleinen pysäköintialue sijaitsee Maakunnankadulla noin 700 metrin päässä rakennuksesta. Vilkkaina tapahtumapäivinä suosittelemme käyttämään henkilöauton sijasta muita saapumisvaihtoehtoja tai pysäköimään auton tarvittaessa Maakunnankadun parkkialueelle.

\n<h5>Morning</h5>\nLecture on the natural history of soil, organisms living in the soil, and climate change.
\n<h5>Afternoon</h5>\nOutdoor soil observation.
\nIndoor workshop where observations are translated into art using soil and other natural materials.
\nThroughout the day, we will discuss, ask questions, and reflect together. No prior experience is required. All you need is curiosity.
\n<h3>Soilscape</h3>\nSOILCAPE seeks to understand and build on the current societal perceptions and relationship between people and soil. At its core, it will establish a self-sustaining network of eight Soils and Arts Orchestras, bringing together over 440 multidisciplinary actors across Europe to raise soil literacy and engagement. Through dynamic and transparent open call initiatives, the project will harness the power of art to deepen public understanding of soils – Earth’s most vital resource. It aims to empower more than 5,000 citizens and professionals to actively care for soils, while showcasing successful initiatives to a wider audience, reaching at least 20,000 participants annually at the 10 Soil Festivals. Extending its symphony beyond Europe to 30 regions worldwide, SOILSCAPE becomes a beacon of hope, reminding the world to treasure and protect the foundation of life itself.
\n<h3>Ellenor Rose Nish</h3>\nEllenor Rose Nish (b. 1997, Nhulunbuy, Australia) is an artist with an art-science-based practice led by natural sciences. Her artworks weave a necessary narrative by, for example, preserving biological diversity into the deep future and deepening the relationship between nature and people. She works in a way that fosters softness and care. She completed a Bachelor of Biology at the Australian National University, and a Bachelor and Master of Fine Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki.

\n<h3></h3>\n<h3>Arrival at Kalevan Navetta</h3>\nThe Äärellä restaurant is open during the workshop on the 1st floor, and the exhibitions at Kunsthalle Seinäjoki are open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
\nAddress: Nyykoolinkatu 25, 60100 Seinäjoki. The main entrance to the building is located on the side of the courtyard between Kalevan Navetta and the Itikanmäki residential buildings. You can reach Kalevan Navetta on foot or by bike via Vaasantie or across the Lakeuden aamunkoi bridge over Pohjan valtatie.
\nThere are approximately 50 parking spaces for customers around Kalevan Navetta. The first two (2) hours are free with a ticket from the parking meter or a parking app, and subsequent hours cost €1/hour. The nearest public parking lot is located on Maakunnankatu, about 700 meters from the building. On busy event days, we recommend using other modes of transportation instead of a car or, if necessary, parking your car in the Maakunnankatu parking lot.
