Purmojärven Nuorisoseura täyttää tänä vuonna 120 vuotta. Merkkivuotta juhlitaan lauantaina 12. syyskuuta kello 18 alkaen Purmojärven Rantahallilla. Kahvitus klo 18-19.00. Juhla alkaa klo 19.00. Juhlaväelle tarjotaan kakkukahvit ja suolaista purtavaa. Luvassa on vapaamuotoinen juhlatilaisuus ja samalla avoimet ovet, joissa pääsee tutustumaan myös Rantahallin uudistettuihin tiloihin. Rantahallin ravintolan ja keittiön tilat on uudistettu kokonaan ja salia on kohennettu viihtyisämmäksi.

Illan ohjelmassa on musiikkia, muistamisia, muisteloita ja historiikkia sekä leikkimielistä bingoa. Illan päätteeksi on luvassa tanssia Duo Annika Rantala & Esa Rintamäen johdolla.

Etelä- ja Keski-Pohjanmaan tietokirjailijat järjestää Seinäjoen kaupunginkirjaston kanssa yhteistyössä kaikille avoimen yleisötilaisuuden, jossa levy-yhtiöammattilainen Topi Salmi on tietokirjailija Jaakko Riihimaan haastateltavana Apila-kirjaston Jaaksi-salissa 4.12. klo 17-19.

Topi Salmi on kirjoittanut mm. Black Devils -yhtyeen juhlakirjan \"30 vuotta hurrikaanin silmässä\", ja tilaisuudessa nähdään paikalla myös kaksi yhtyeen jäsentä (JP Kakkola ja ex-Hurriganes-soittaja Janne Louhivuori). Miehet keikkailevat samana iltana Seinäjoen Rytmikorjaamolla kirjastotapahtuman jälkeen.

Topi Salmen tuotantoon kuuluu myös dokumentaristi Tommi E. Virtasen kanssa yhdessä kirjoitettu \"Isäni Vexi\", joka on paitsi sanoittajalegendan elämä poikansa silmin myös monipuolinen kuvaus suomalaisesta musiikki- ja kulttuurielämästä, taiteilijoista ja alati muuttuvasta musiikin tuottamisesta eri vaiheineen. Teoksen takakansi kuvaa osuvasti: \"Topi Salmi syntyi Vexi uran alkupuolen kiihkeinä menestysvuosina. Taiteilijaelämä Irwinin kanssa teki myös hittisanoittajasta koko kansan julkkiksen. Se heijastui Salmien kotielämäänkin, Vexi oli paljon poissa arjesta ja liitto päättyi avioeroon. Topi jäi asumaan äitinsä luo, ja suhde isään etääntyi. Topi kuitenkin seurasi isäänsä musiikkialalle, kun Vexi otti poikansa töihin Flamingo-levy-yhtiöönsä. Samalla isän ja pojan suhde sai uuden alun.\"

Nelimarkka-museossa avautuva uusi näyttely on valokuviin pohjautuva installaatio pohjalaisesta maisemasta. Näyttelyn taiteilijalle, Juha Allan Ekholmille, valokuva on paitsi tallentava myös monimuotoinen nykytaiteen väline, joka taipuu osaksi vaikkapa tilallisia teoksia.

\n

ISOÄIDIN MAA yhdistelee dokumentaarisen valokuvataiteen ja installaation keinomaailmoja. Taiteilija tuo näyttelyssään museoon muun muassa kalkkia, maa-ainesta ja Etelä-Pohjanmaalta löytyneitä objekteja kuten juoksurataa. Ekholmin mukaan lopputulos on ”tuttu ja samanaikaisesti outo tai valveuni, hypnagoginen näky”. Temaattisesti näyttely käsittelee sekä maisemaa että kollektiivisia maisemakäsityksiä.

Näyttelyä varten Ekholm työskenteli Nelimarkka-museon taiteilijaresidenssissä useamman vuoden aikana eri pituisissa jaksoissa. Ensimmäinen kuvauspaikka oli Etelä-Pohjanmaan rajalla sijaitseva Sulkavankylä, josta taiteilijan suku on osin lähtöisin.

Juha Allan Ekholm (s.1965 Espoo) on opiskellut valokuvaa, videota ja paikkasidonnaista taidetta Turun Taideakatemiassa sekä Tampereen AMK:ssa. Taiteilijalla on teoksia kokoelmissa koti- ja ulkomailla. Ekholm sai Jenny ja Antti Wihurin rahaston WihuriEfekti-palkinnon vuonna 2025.
