Eteläpohjalaisesta haitariperinteestä vahvasti ponnistava Antti Paalanen esittelee musiikillista uraansa julkaisemiensa musiikkivideoiden avulla. Paalasen hurjan musiikin välineinä on suomalaisesta ja eritoten eteläpohjalaisesta kansanmusiikista tuttu vähärivinen haitari. Perinteestä innoituksensa saanut Paalanen on kuitenkin luonut täysin oman musiikkimaailmansa, jossa traditioon sekoittuvat mm. transsinomainen minimalismi, elektronisen tanssimusiikin hypnoottinen poljento ja siperialaisen kurkkulaulutyylin tuomat jylhät äänimaisemat.

Harvemmin Kauhajoella kuullusta country-musiikista voidaan nyt nauttia täysin rinnoin Kauhajoen Kulttuuritalolla lauantaina 31.1. klo 18. Luvassa perinteistä bluegrassia ja modernimpaa countrya soitettuna perinteisillä instrumenteilla ja harmonia lauluilla. Ohjelmassa musiikkia mm. elokuvasta Brother, Where art thou?, sekä amerikkalaiselta The Chicks yhtyeeltä. Konsertin aloittaa Kauhajoen kansalaisopiston Kukko-kitararyhmä.

Runomaraton tulee taas! Perjantaina 6. helmikuuta 2026 Kulttuurikollektiivi Silta ry järjestää jo perinteeksi muodostuneen Runomaraton-tapahtuman, nyt osana Kalevan Navetan Afterwork Art -perjantaita. Kokoontukaamme siis Hugo-saliin elävän runouden ja sanataiteen äärelle. Yhteistyössä mukana räppiyhteisö Heikää ry, joka virittää runotaajuutemme myös rap-lyriikan maailmaan. Illan päättää Heikää Live, jossa esiintyjinä Cordie, Jimi-Julian, Senssi ja V-Lane. Tilaisuus alkaa klo 18 ja päättyy noin 21.30. Vapaa pääsy!

Kohtaamistaiteessa olennaista ovat havainnot, yllätyksellisyys, kohtaaminen, ilo ja arvostus. Sen pohja on japanilaisessa Clinical Art – työskentelyssä.

\n

Aluksi virittäydytään aiheeseen eri tavoin. Itse taidetyöskentely on porrastettu eikä lopputulosta pysty kukaan ennakoimaan. Näin jokainen pääsee nauttimaan omasta luovuudestaan ja teoksensa arvostavasta katselusta yhdessä toisten kanssa. Kohtaamistaiteen moniaistisuus ja taidetyöskentely luovat läsnäoloa kulloiseenkin hetkeen.
