Sotavanhuksen museo on saanut nimensä J.L. Runebergin kirjoittamien Vänrikki Stoolin tarinoiden Sotavanhus-runosta. Museon alakerrassa esitellään Suomen sodan (1808-1809) aikaista Alavuden taistelua, Alavuden kirkkohistoriaa, tervanpolttokulttuuria sekä entisajan talonpoikaiselämää. Yläkerrassa on nähtävänä kivikauden löytöjä, eränkäyntikulttuuria sekä erilaisia kulkuvälineitä.

Eduskunta kokoontui Kauhajoella talvisodan aikaan 1.12.1939  -12.2.1940. Eduskuntamuseossa voi tutustua eduskunnan istuntosaliin, valokuviin ja muuhun aineistoon talvisodan ajalta.

Kauhajoen Eduskuntamuseo on avoinna 3.7.  –  8.8.2021, keskiviikkona klo 17-20, lauantaina ja sunnuntaina klo 13-16. Muuna aikana museon esittelyn voi tilata Kauhajoki-Oppailta, p. 040 563 6601.
