"fi": "<p>Poikkipolkuja ekologiaan –ryhmänäyttely esittelee teoksia, joissa havainnot ja faktat erilaisista ilmiöistä yhdistyvät taiteen, tieteen ja muotoilun kautta. Taiteilijat välittävät havaintojaan eri tavoin ja tuovat esille näkymätöntä.</p>\n<p>Näyttelyn taiteilijat ovat Brandon Ballengée, Cecilia Jonsson, Julia Lohmann, Soichiro Mihara, Leena Saarinen ja Antti Tenetz. Kuraattoreina toimivat Erich Berger, Mari Keski-Korsu ja Anna Puhakka. Näyttely on ollut aiemmin esillä <a href=\"http://www.annantalo.fi/\">Annantalon taidekeskuksessa</a> Helsingissä ja se on toteutettu yhdessä <a href=\"https://bioartsociety.fi/\">Biotaiteen seuran</a> kanssa.</p>\n<p>Brandon Ballengée tuo kenttätutkimuksessaan keräämiensä mutatoituneiden sammakoiden kautta näkyväksi ympäristön tilaa. Cecilia Jonssonin teos taas havainnollistaa meren happamuutta jättiläismäisellä mittalaitteella. Julia Lohmann keskittyy työssään merilevään materiaalina pohtien, mitä se kertoo merien tilasta sekä siitä, mitä voitaisiin tehdä merien happamoitumisen pysäyttämiseksi. Soichiro Miharan teos antaa äänen radioaktiivisen säteilylle, joka taiteilijan kotimaassa nousi esille Fukushiman ydinvoimalaonnettomuuden jälkeen. Leena Saarinen pyrkii tuomaan ihmisten ja lintujen kieltä lähemmäksi toisiaan luomalla linnunlaululle aakkoset. Antti Tenetzin työssä taas tutkitaan keinoälyn ja biologian mahdollisuuksia avaruuden näkökulmasta.</p>\n<p>Näyttely esittää kysymyksiä yhteiselosta erilaisissa ekosysteemeissä ja ihmisten tavoista on suhtautua ympäristöönsä. Miten teosten kautta voi hahmottaa muuttuvaa maailmaa?</p>\n<p>Biotaiteen seura kehittää, tuottaa ja järjestää toimintaa, jotka käsittelevät taidetta ja luonnontieteitä ja keskittyvät yleensä biologiaan, ekologiaan tai biotieteisiin. Seuralla on SO-LU-niminen taidetila, joka toimii taiteellisena laboratoriona ja taiteen, tieteen ja yhteiskunnan yhdistävänä alustana Katajanokalla Helsingissä. Biotaiteen seuralla on residenssiohjelmataiteilijoille Kilpisjärven biologisella tutkimusasemalla.</p>\n",

"en": "<p>The Criss-Crossing Ecologies group exhibition presents artworks that combine different types of artistic observations of phenomena and search for poetic truths through the lenses of art, science and design. Through their work, these artists devise varied strategies to communicate their findings and truths, making the invisible visible.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The artists of the exhibition are<strong> Brandon Ballengée</strong>,<strong> Cecilia Jonsson</strong>,<strong> Julia Lohmann</strong>, <strong>Soichiro Mihara</strong>, <strong>Leena Saarinen</strong> and <strong>Antti Tenetz</strong>. The curators are <strong>Erich Berger</strong>, <strong>Mari Keski-Korsu</strong> and <strong>Anna Puhakka</strong>. The exhibition has previously been on display at <a href=\"http://www.annantalo.fi/en/frontpage\">the Annantalo Art Centre</a> in Helsinki, and it has been created in collaboration with <a href=\"https://bioartsociety.fi/\">the Bioart Society</a>.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Brandon Ballengée large-scale photographs highlight a deteriorating environment through mutated frogs, which he has collected during his field research. Cecilia Jonsson’s work makes the sea’s acidity levels visible with giant PH-indicators and explores the marine environment. In her work, Julia Lohmann focuses on seaweed as her primary material for creating art. She is interested in what this material can tell us about the state of the seas and what could be done to stop the ocean acidification. Soichiro Miharan’s work gives voice to the radioactive radiation that emerged in the artist’s country after the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Leena Saarinen aims to bring the language of people and birds closer together by creating an alphabet for bird song. Antti Tenetz’s work explores the possibilities created by artificial intelligence and biology in space exploration.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The research subjects of the artists lead to deeper questions than the aestheticization of the final work of art: What is coexistence like in different types of ecosystems? How do humans relate to their environment? How can we envision the changing world through these artworks? Through science, art, design and technology we are able to ponder these questions.</p>\n<p>The Bioart Society develops, produces and arranges activities that consider art and natural sciences and usually focus on biology, ecology or biosciences. The Society has an art space called SO-LU, which serves as an artistic laboratory and a platform connecting art, science and society, in Katajanokka, Helsinki. The Bioart Society has a residency program for artists at the Kilpisjärvi Biological Research Station.</p>\n"
