"fi": "<p>Konstantin Benkovich (synt. 1981 Venäjällä) on kansainvälinen aktivistitaiteilija, joka asuu ja työskentelee Lapualla ja on Seinäjoen Taiteilijaseuran jäsen. Hän on opiskellut Pietarin Stieglitzin valtiollisessa taide- ja muotoiluakatemiassa. Benkovichin teoksia on ollut esillä merkittävissä museoissa kuten Saatchi Galleryssa ja hankittu yksityiskokoelmiin ympäri maailmaa. Hänen installaationsa ovat vastalauseita vallalle ja kontrollille ja Benkovichin katutaide ja paikkasidonnaiset teokset herättävät keskustelua ja kannustavat yleisöä toimimaan.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Näyttely keskittyy kasvien symboliseen merkitykseen taiteilijalle. Uudet teokset tutkivat kasvien merkityksiä elämän, muistin ja muutoksen metaforana. Raudoitus, kierrettynä kuin piikkilanka, muuttuu kuviksi, joissa näkyvä kauneus kätkee uhan. Orjantappurakruunu, kynttilä, pääkallo ja luut viittaavat <em>vanitas</em>-perinteeseen — muistutukseen katoavaisuudesta ja tuskasta.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Näissä teoksissa käsitellään tuttuja teemoja vapaudesta ja vankeudesta. Piikkilanka ja raudoitus ovat materiaaleja, joita käytetään usein vankilojen aidoissa ja esteissä. Ne edustavat rajaa, jonka ylittäminen on vaikeaa. Kukat puolestaan symboloivat voimaa ja halua elää. Tämä projekti on tilaisuus tutkia uusia ideoita ja valmistautuminen laajempaan visioon, joka jakaa menneisyyden ja tulevaisuuden, jossa taiteilija haluaa hyvästellä harhakuvat ja aloittaa uuden elämän.</p>\n",

"en": "<p>Konstantin Benkovich (b. 1981, Russia) is an international activist artist who lives and works in Lapua, Finland, and is a member of the Seinäjoki Artists' Association. He studied at the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design. Benkovich’s works have been exhibited in major museums such as the Saatchi Gallery and acquired for private collections around the world.</p>\n<p>His installations serve as statements against power and control, while his street art and site-specific works provoke dialogue and encourage public engagement.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The exhibition focuses on the symbolic meaning of plants for the artist. The new works explore plants as metaphors for life, memory, and transformation. Rebar, woven like barbed wire, transforms into images where visible beauty carries a sense of threat. The crown of thorns, a candle, a skull, and bones refer to the tradition of <em>vanitas</em> — a reminder of transience and pain.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>These works explore familiar themes of freedom and captivity. Barbed wire and rebar are materials often used in prison fences and barriers. They represent a boundary that is hard to cross. Flowers, on the other hand, symbolize strength and the will to live. This project is an opportunity to explore new ideas and a preparation for a larger concept, which will separate the past and the future, where the artist aims to say goodbye to illusions and start a new life.</p>\n"
