"fi": "<p><strong>Tiina Laasosen</strong> yksityisnäyttely <em>Tunnen puun, joka kasvoi suureksi </em>esittelee seinäjokiselta kuvanveistäjältä uusia teoksia Seinäjoen taidehallin Hallissa. Näyttely käsittelee yhteisöllistä muistia, pientä puun elämän mittaista ajanjaksoa ajan pitkässä jatkumossa.</p>\n<p>Näyttelyn teokset on valmistettu puumateriaalista, joka on kerätty avoimella puunkeruukampanjalla paikallisten asukkaiden kotipihoilta Seinäjoelta, Lapualta ja Vaasasta. Keskeinen osa näyttelyä ovat taideteosten materiaaleihin liittyvät muistot ja tarinat, jotka taiteilija kirjoitti ylös puumateriaalia kerätessään. Tarinat ja muistot ovat näyttelyn teosten muotokielen ja aiheiden lähtökohtia.</p>\n<p>Taiteilija itse muistaa omenapuun, jonka istutti äitinsä kanssa voikukkapellosta raivattuun puutarhaan. Vuosia myöhemmin äiti antoi Laasoselle myrskyn katkaiseman omenapuunoksan toivoen, että siitä syntyisi taideteos. Lopulta se sai uuden elämän <em>Äidin omenapuunoksa</em> -teoksena, joka on esillä näyttelyssä.</p>\n<p>Laasonen käsittelee teoksissaan ja niiden tekotavassa puihin liittyvää tunnesidettä, niiden suhdetta muistoihin, henkilöhistoriaan ja identiteettiin.</p>\n<p>Laasosen työskentelyssä perinteinen käsityöläisyys ja puuntyöstötekniikat yhdistyvät nykykuvanveiston kanssa. Työskentelyprosessi on hidas, vaitonainen ja samaa työvaihetta toistava. Hallin rouhea ja betoninen arkkitehtuuri tarjoaa taustan eri puulajien sävyille, puun lämmölle ja pehmeydelle. Kookkaat teokset noudattelevat Laasoselle tuttua muotokieltä: puisia nauhoja, neuleita ja helmiä. Muodot symboloivat jatkuvuutta ja katkeamattomuutta sukupolvien ketjussa ja ajassa.</p>\n<p><strong>Tiina Laasonen</strong></p>\n<p>Tiina Laasonen (s. 1968 Kauhava) asuu ja työskentelee Seinäjoella. Laasonen valmistui vuonna 1993 Kankaanpään taidekoulusta kuvanveistäjäksi. Laasonen on toiminut myös ympäristötaiteilijana ja tehnyt useita julkisia teoksia. Hänen veistoksiaan ja tilataideteoksiaan on nähty lukuisissa galleria- ja museonäyttelyissä Suomessa ja ulkomailla, ja hänen teoksiaan on monissa museoissa ja julkisissa kokoelmissa. Tiina Laasoselle on myönnetty 2019 Sanomalehti Pohjalaisen <em>Vaasan Jaakkoo</em> -kulttuuripalkinto, 2017 <em>Pohjanmaan taidetoimikunnan taidepalkinto</em> ja 1997 <em>Nuori pohjalainen taiteilija</em> -palkinto.</p>\n<p>Taiteilijan työskentelyä on tukenut SKR Etelä-Pohjanmaan rahasto ja Taiteen edistämiskeskus.</p>\n<p>Kuva: Katariina Vestergård</p>\n",

"en": "<p><em>Know a Tree that Grew Up</em> is a solo exhibition by <a href=\"https://www.tiinalaasonen.fi/\"><strong>Tiina Laasone</strong></a><strong>n</strong> presenting new works by the Seinäjoki based sculptor. The exhibition deals with communal memory and observes a lifespan of a single tree in relation to the long continuum of time.</p>\n<p>The works in the exhibition are made from wood collected through an open call: Local people in Seinäjoki, Lapua and Vaasa donated material for the artworks directly from their gardens. While collecting the pieces of wood for the art works, the artist took notes on the stories and memories the donators had on the material. The stories and memories later became central to the exhibition: they serve as the subject of the artworks as well as the starting point for the formal language of the exhibition.</p>\n<p>The artist herself still remembers how she and her mother planted an apple tree in the garden cleared from the dandelion field. Years later, the mother gave Laasonen an apple tree branch cut by a storm, hoping that the brach could be turned into a work of art. In the end, the branch got a new life as <em>Mother’s apple tree branch</em>, an artwork on display in the exhibition.</p>\n<p>Through her art as well as the process of working, Laasonen reflects on the emotional bond associated with trees, the way they connect to our memories, personal histories and identities.</p>\n<p>Laasonen’s work combines traditional craftsmanship and woodworking techniques with contemporary sculpture. The working process is slow, silent and often repeating the same work phase. The large works follow the form that is familiar to Laasonen: they turn into wooden strips, knits and beads. The shapes symbolize continuity and unbrokenness in the chain of generations and time.</p>\n<p>The rough and concrete architecture of Seinäjoki Kunsthalle exhibition space provides a contrasting background for the varying tones of different types of wood, the warmth and tenderness of the material.</p>\n"
