Keskustelussa on tilaa myös yleisön kommenteille ja kysymyksille.</p>\n<p>Kerro minulle aikojen alusta -näyttelykierroksella tarkastellaan <a href=\"https://www.seinajoentaidehalli.fi/ajan-saastuminen/\">Ajan saastuminen</a> -näyttelyä Seinäjoen taidehallissa Niko Putkisen kanssa. Niko Putkinen toimii erikoistutkijana Geologian tutkimuskeskuksessa (GTK). Putkisen mielenkiinnon kohteena on nykyisyyden ja menneisyyden ilmastonmuutosten vaikutus glasiaalidynamiikkaan eli jäätikön liikehdintään. Millaisia ajatuksia Ajan saastuminen -näyttely herättää tutkijassa? Näyttelyn teokset kutsuvat meitä tarkastelemaan aikaa ja vaikutusvaltaamme siihen. Teokset osoittavat, miten syvä menneisyys ja tulevaisuus vaikuttavat huomaamatta jokapäiväiseen elämäämme. Miten syvän ajan tutkiminen auttaa meitä ymmärtämään nykyisyyttämme ja toiveitamme tulevaisuudesta?</p>\n<p><h3></h3> <h3>Niko Putkinen</h3></p>\n<p>Niko Putkinen toimii erikoistutkijana Geologian tutkimuskeskuksessa. Hän valmistui maisteriksi ja väitteli Oulun yliopistossa, jonka jälkeen työskenteli vuoden postdoc-tutkijana The Planet Earth -laboratoriossa Toronton yliopistossa. Nikon mielenkiinnon kohteena on nykyisyyden ja menneisyyden ilmastonmuutosten vaikutus glasiaalidynamiikkaan. Maaperän ymmärtämisellä on suora yhteys mm. eri mittakaavaiseen 3D-kartoitukseen ja akviferisysteemien karakterisointiin, mukaan luettuna kaupunkigeologian laaja kenttä. Hänen mielenkiinnon kohteet liittyvät myös geologian, hydrogeologian ja geofysikan mallien yhteensopivuuteen, mm. uuden teknologian, kaukokartoituksen, tiedonhallinnan ja datamallien avustamana. "en": "<h3>Guided Tour to The Contamination of Time Exhibition</h3>\n<p>Friday 6th of November at 5 to 6 pm</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>During the interactive guided tour, the Kunsthalle’s guide provides an overview of the exhibition, while visiting experts offer their own perspectives. There is also time during the discussion for comments and questions from the audience.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The<em> Tell Me About the Beginning of Time</em> guided tour explores <a href=\"https://www.seinajoentaidehalli.fi/en/contamination-of-time/\">The Contamination of Time</a> exhibition at Kunsthalle Seinäjoki with Niko Putkinen. Niko Putkinen is a senior researcher at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK). Putkinen’s research focuses on the impact of present-day and past climate change on glacial dynamics, which means the movement of glaciers. What thoughts does The Contamination of Time exhibition evoke in the researcher? The works in the exhibition invite us to reflect on time and our influence over it. The works demonstrate how the distant past and future subtly influence our everyday lives. How does studying deep time help us understand our present and our hopes for the future?</p>\n<p></p>\n<p></p>\n<h3>Niko Putkinen</h3>\n<p>Niko Putkinen is a Senior Scientist at Geological Survey of Finland. After having graduated from University of Oulu, he spend a Post Doc year in the Planet Earth Lab at UTSC on ice streaming over soft and hard beds across the Laurentide ice sheet. His current interests are in the modern and past climate variations control glacier operation. Understanding of past glacial environments and processes has a direct linkage to the regional scale 3D mapping and aquifer systems characterization as well as the vast field of urban geology in glaciated regions. Other interests focus to the methodological development of mapping utilize new technology, geo-data management and models that improve the interoperabilty of remote sensing, geophysical and geological models. Currently Niko is a Glacial Geology Docent in University of Helsinki and works intensively as a chief scientist and a project leader in numerous projects including the Scandinavian largest groundwater exploration project.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>The event is funded by Finnish Cultural Foundation</p>\n<p></p>\n"
