Opastetulla kierroksella tutustutaan asemanseudun v. 2024–2025 valmistuneisiin taideteoksiin.</p>\n<h4>Ohjelma 29.9.2026</h4>\n<ul>\n<li>klo 17.30 Aseman taidekierros<br>– lähtö Perhekeskuksen aulasta Taidehallin oppaan johdolla (Ruukintie 2).<br>klo 18.19 Aseman alikulkutunnelin taideteoksen juhlavalo-ohjelman käynnistyminen<br>Tutustu juhlavalo-ohjelman käynnistymisen jälkeen tarkemmin alikulun taideteokseen <em>Kaninkolo ja maailmanpyörä</em> ja voit myös tavata taiteilijan Marjukka Korhosen.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Kaninkolo ja maailmanpyörä</h3>\n<p>Marjukka Korhosen asematunnelin läpi levittäytyvä tilataideteos <em>Kaninkolo ja maailmanpyörä</em> kutsuu kulkijan havainnoimaan ajan ja liikkeen hienovaraisia muutoksia. Teoksen tapahtumat ovat hetkellisiä, kerrostuneita ja tarkkaavaisuutta herättäviä. Niiden lähtökohtana ovat Seinäjoen rautatieaseman historialliset juna-aikataulut. Teos muodostuu pilvimäisestä, läpikuultavasta seinämaalauksesta, pronssiin valetuista linnuista ja niitä lähettävästä hahmosta sekä tunnelin seinille sijoitetuista LED-valoraiteista. Kokonaisuus yhdistää nykyhetken ja ajan, jolloin rautatieliikenne alkoi Seinäjoella.</p>\n<p>Valoraiteiden valot syttyvät ja sammuvat hitaasti varhaisten juna-aikataulujen rytmissä. Tavallisesti valon liike etenee rauhallisesti yksittäisissä valoraiteissa, ja asematunnelin läpi kulkeva voi havaita vain yhden tai kaksi liikahdusta kerrallaan muiden valojen levätessä.</p>\n<h3>Valojuhla</h3>\n<p>Joka päivä klo 18.19 valoraiteissa käynnistyy noin puolentoista minuutin mittainen valojuhla muistona ensimmäisestä virallisen aikataulun mukaisesta sekajunasta, joka saapui Seinäjoen asemalle. Lisäksi maanantaisin, keskiviikkoisin ja lauantaisin klo 8.25 nähdään vastaava valojakso ensimmäisen aikataulunmukaisen tavarajunan saapumisen kunniaksi.</p>\n<p>Teoksen vuosittainen huipentuma koetaan 29. syyskuuta klo 18.19, jolloin käynnistyy vuorokauden mittainen vuosijuhla. Se muistuttaa ensimmäisestä virallisen aikataulun mukaisesta sekajunasta, joka saapui Tampereelta Seinäjoelle 29.9.1883 klo 18.19 radan avautuessa yleiselle liikenteelle (Lähde: Suomen Rautatiemuseo). Vuosijuhlan aikana valo-ohjelma jatkuu keskeytyksettä myös yön yli, valkoiset sävyt saavat uusia värejä, ja tunnelissa nähdään tavallista runsaampi ja elävämpi valojen liikenne.</p>\n<h3>Taiteilija</h3>\n<p><strong>Marjukka Korhonen</strong> (s. 1968) on kuvanveistäjä ja julkisen taiteen ammattilainen. Hänen tuotantonsa ulottuu yksittäisistä veistoksesta laajoihin julkisen taiteen suunnittelutöihin. Korhosen työskentelyn lähtökohtina ovat usein erilaisiin yhteisöihin, kuten perheeseen, ystäviin tai työyhteisöihin, kuuluvat ihmishahmot. Kaupunkitilaan toteutetuissa projekteissa Korhosta kiinnostaa erityisesti ihmisen ja rakennetun ympäristön välinen suhde.</p>\n",

"en": "<p>The art installation Rabbit Hole and the Ferris Wheel, completed in 2025 in the new underpass, will honor the history of the Seinäjoki railway on September 29th with a special festive light show. Artist Marjukka Korhonen, who created the underpass artwork, will also be present. A guided tour will introduce visitors to the artworks completed in the station area between 2024 and 2025.</p>\n<h4>Program</h4>\n<ul>\n<li>5:30 p.m. Guided Public Art Tour at the Station<br>– Departure from the Family Center lobby, led by a Kunsthalle guide (Ruukintie 2).<br>6:19 p.m. Start of the festive lighting program for the artwork in the station’s underpass<br>After the light show begins, take a closer look at the artwork Rabbit Hole and the Ferris Wheel and meet the artist, Marjukka Korhonen.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Rabbit Hole and the Ferris Wheel</h3>\n<p>Marjukka Korhonen’s public artwork, <em>Rabbit Hole and the Ferris Wheel</em>, which extends through the station tunnel, invites passersby to observe the subtle changes in time and movement. The events in the work are fleeting, layered, and thought-provoking. They are inspired by the historical train schedules of the Seinäjoki railway station. The work consists of a cloud-like, translucent mural, birds cast in bronze and a figure sending them forth, as well as LED light tracks installed on the tunnel walls. The ensemble connects the present moment with the era when rail traffic began in Seinäjoki.</p>\n<p>The lights on the light tracks slowly turn on and off in time with the rhythm of the early train schedules. Typically, the movement of light progresses calmly along individual light tracks, and those passing through the station tunnel may notice only one or two flashes at a time while the other lights remain still.</p>\n<h3>Light Show</h3>\n<p>Every day at 6:19 p.m., a light show lasting about a minute and a half begins on the light tracks to commemorate the first mixed-traffic train to arrive at Seinäjoki Station according to the official schedule. In addition, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 8:25 a.m., a similar light display is held to honor the arrival of the first scheduled freight train.</p>\n<p>The annual highlight of the installation takes place on September 29th at 6:19 p.m., when a 24-hour anniversary celebration begins. This commemorates the first official mixed-traffic train, which arrived in Seinäjoki from Tampere on September 29th, 1883, at 6:19 p.m., when the line opened to public traffic (Source: Finnish Railway Museum). During the anniversary celebration, the light show will continue uninterrupted throughout the night; the white hues will take on new colors, and the tunnel will feature a more abundant and vibrant display of lights than usual.</p>\n<h3>Artist</h3>\n<p>Marjukka Korhonen (b. 1968) is a sculptor and public art professional. Her body of work ranges from individual sculptures to large-scale public art projects. The starting points for Korhonen’s work are often human figures belonging to various communities, such as family, friends, or work colleagues. In projects realized in urban spaces, Korhonen is particularly interested in the relationship between people and the built environment.</p>\n"
